Last night, I had the pleasure of photographing the Living Legacy Juneteenth Art Exhibition, and it truly felt like coming home.
A big thank you to my good friend Taleeb McDowell, General Manager of the AC Hotel Tampa Airport. When Taleeb took over the hotel three years ago, it was quite bland with that typical corporate look and lacked personality. He has worked hard to transform it by bringing in meaningful, eclectic art &mdash; especially from local talented Black artists, giving the space real character and soul.
This beautiful exhibition was curated and presented by Diaspora Fine Art, a gallery dedicated to showcasing exceptional work by artists of African descent from the continent and across the global diaspora. Their commitment to celebrating Black artistry and culture made this Juneteenth celebration even more powerful and authentic.
The evening was extra special because I got to reconnect with so many people I deeply respect and care about, friends and family I hadn&rsquo;t seen in years. It was wonderful seeing Taleeb&rsquo;s wife and his father again. Seeing familiar faces like Meclina Gomes and Noland Anderson, two artists whose work and character I truly admire, made the night even more meaningful. It was also great reconnecting with Kamil Peters, who I had met four years ago at another art exhibition.
What stood out most was how engaged the three artists were with the guests. Meclina, Noland, and Kamil spent the evening warmly interacting with everyone, personally explaining their creative process and the stories behind their work. That level of generosity and connection turned the exhibition into something truly special.
These are the moments I&rsquo;m most passionate about capturing, real human connection, cultural pride, and community coming together.

Capturing Culture: Juneteenth Art Exhibition in Tampa Bay

This past Saturday, I had the pleasure of photographing the American Board of Physician Specialties (ABPS) annual leadership meeting for the fourth year in a row.
What started as a simple photography assignment has grown into something much more meaningful to me. Photographing these well established medical practitioners every year truly feels like working with family.
The highlight of the day was the presentation of five prestigious awards recognizing outstanding leadership and service to the organization:

It was a true honor to capture these special moments as each honoree gave a commemorative speech after receiving their award.
ABPS is a nationally recognized multi-specialty certifying body that as existed for 74 years and continues to uphold the highest standards in physician certification across a wide range of medical specialties.
As they continue to grow their membership and advance their mission of clinical excellence, ABPS remains a strong &ldquo;no-nonsense&rdquo; certifying organization for physicians.

Honoring Excellence at the ABPS Annual Leadership Meeting 2026

Last Friday, I returned to photograph Westshore Financial Group&rsquo;s annual award dinner&mdash;for the seventh year in a row. This year it was held at the Westin Tampa Waterside located on Davis Island. It&rsquo;s always a joy to walk in and see so many familiar faces again, such as Lynne Boyle, Erin Watson, Stewart Davis, Chris Garrido, and Wayne Barber, just to name a few. The warmth and camaraderie make it feel more like a family gathering than a corporate event.
&nbsp;
Westshore Financial Group, a premier Guardian agency with offices across Tampa Bay, St. Petersburg, Sarasota, Orlando, and West Palm Beach, is deeply rooted in family values and a commitment to providing the very best for their clients. The evening celebrated advisors who go the extra mile, honoring top earners for their dedication, integrity, and client-first service.
A particularly touching moment was the presentation of the inaugural Raymond Berard Memorial Award, named in memory of their beloved Managing Director Raymond Berard. It went to Jay Langford, CFP&reg;, ChFC&reg;, CExP&trade;, recognizing the same excellence and care Ray exemplified every day. So many more awards were presented to top earners, great to see a company give consistent appreciation to its associates. Glad i was able to capture it all.

Westshore Financial Group Annual Award Dinner 2026

Fred Astaire North Tampa Dance Studio were also invited back for the second year in a row.

As the calendar flipped to mark another year, I found myself returning once again to the anticipated annual event hosted by the Argabrite Group. This was the second year in a row that I'd had the pleasure of capturing their client appreciation night, a sparkling affair with plenty family and friends that were the stars of the show. The Argabrite Group, a prestigious entity in the world of Florida real estate, had decided to up the ante for 2025. The evening was bathed in the thrilling glow of a casino-themed extravaganza. The room was a buzz of excitement and laughter, the air filled with the clinking sounds of poker chips and the soft rustle of shuffled cards. The clients were treated to a whirlwind of classic casino games. Blackjack tables were crowded with people trying their luck, poker faces were in full force, and the roulette wheel spun with an electrifying energy. Even the craps table had a steady stream of participants, especially with one fellow who was on a role all night! At the center of it all was Tricia Argabrite, a woman whose name resonates with respect and admiration in the Florida real estate market. With a rewarding career that has spanned over 18 years, Tricia is celebrated for her expert knowledge of the market, her exceptional negotiation skills, and an unwavering commitment to ensuring her clients' satisfaction. This evening was no different; her dedication to her clients was as clear as the smiles on their faces. The atmosphere was further enlivened by the pulsating rhythms of Latin-themed music, enticing a few to abandon their games momentarily for a dance or two. Fred Astaire North Tampa Dance Studio was also invited back to help liven up the festivities on the dance floor. The night was a veritable feast of fun, and I felt incredibly grateful to Tricia for inviting me to document it for a second year. I was no longer just the event photographer, I felt part of the family. As I left that evening, a sense of satisfaction washed over me. The night had been a testament to Tricia's incredible skills as a hostess and a professional realtor who values her precious relationships with her clients. Looking forward to see what Tricia and the Argabrite Group have planned for the rest of the year.

Argabrite Group Client Casino Night

This year's conference was once again held at the prestigious Hilton Clearwater Beach Resort and Spa for the second year in a row.&nbsp;

For the second year running, I found myself once again at the breathtaking Hilton Clearwater Beach Resort and Spa, tasked with capturing the best of the annual client conference hosted by WLT Software. Known for its trailblazing innovation in the field of technology solutions, WLT Software specializes in areas such as claims processing, health data management, and benefits administration among others. The company is always one for pushing boundaries, promised a conference experience like no other. Delegates could look forward to an array of networking and sponsorship opportunities that transcended the ordinary. After all, when it comes to enhancing benefits and claims capabilities, WLT Software believes that the sky should not be the limit. As I navigated the bustling conference, I was greeted by an array of familiar faces - a testament to the strong relationships I had cultivated since my stint at the previous year's conference. Over time, I've come to appreciate the familial ethos that underpins the entire WLT Software organization. It was heartening to see how the company's values were reflected in the warm, inviting atmosphere of the conference. The event was as informative as it was enjoyable. Ideas were exchanged, knowledge was disseminated, and it was clear to see that everyone present was eager to learn , share and grow. Conversations flowed seamlessly from the state of the industry to innovative strategies for the future, with participants keen to share their insights. In a nutshell, the WLT Software Client Conference was a resounding success. Not only did it serve as a platform for networking and sharing of ideas, but it also showcased the progressive spirit that is so ingrained in WLT's DNA. It's this unique blend of warmth, innovation and ambition that makes WLT Software stand out in the industry, and I'm already looking forward to what they have in store for us next year.

Tuesday evening was welcome meet and greet of all participating vendors and hosts at the outdoor patio venue of the Hilton.

Throughout the days of Wednesday to Friday were the client meetings/roudtables for invaluable training, open discussion and input from clients.

Wednesday evening was the ultra fun space out themed party for clients and WLT Software associates.

For the second year running, I received a call that led me to once again pack my gear and head to the Renaissance International Plaza Tampa hotel. The task at hand? To capture the essence and pivotal moments of the renowned annual ABPS Leadership Meeting and produnce esteemed headshots for its members. Founded in 1952, the American Board of Physician Specialities (ABPS) is a titan in the world of healthcare, standing tall as one of the three most notable nationally recognized multi-specialty certifying entities across the United States. Their prestige and influence are undeniable, making this assignment both an honor and a thrilling challenge. The ABPS is a melting pot of medical wisdom and innovation, made up of member boards with dacades of medical experience that offer rigorous specialty certification examinations for both allopathic (MD) and osteopathic (DO) physicians. Have you ever wondered who ensures the high quality and standards of our physicians? Well, look no further. The ABPS, governed by a steadfast board of directors and a diligent chief executive officer, keeps a vigilant eye on eligibility requirements and testing standards, ensuring they are stringent and uncompromising. The day of the meeting was a whirlwind of activity. The hotel was buzzing with the eager anticipation of the physicians and delegates who had gathered there. My task was to capture this energy, to frame the moments that would define this gathering, and to tell the story of the day as it unfolded. Throughout the day, I was a silent observer in various committee meetings, my lens focused on capturing the intensity, the collaboration, and the groundbreaking discussions that were taking place. From the morning's first light till the setting sun, I immortalized the day's compelling moments in my photographs. As the evening drew near, the atmosphere shifted to one of celebration at the President's Awards Reception. Elegantly dressed delegates gathered in one of the Renaissance hotel's intimate private event space, softly lit by the warm glow of chandeliers. The air was thick with anticipation as the awards ceremony began, and I was there to capture the joy, the pride, and the camaraderie that filled the room. Congratulaions to all the awardees this year and to outging president, Art Cooper MD, for a job well done. Congradulations to the president-elect Sarah E. Gilbert. Special thank you to Keely Clark, Director of CME, for booking me for a second year. Being called back to capture this event was not just an assignment for me. It was an opportunity to be a part of a story much larger than myself - a story of excellence, dedication, and leadership in the world of healthcare. I left the Renaissance International Plaza Tampa hotel not just with memory cards full of images, but with a heart full of admiration for the exceptional individuals I had the privilege of documenting.
